Fertility

Cultivate the soil before you plant the seed.

“Cultivate the soil before you plant the seed” is an old Chinese proverb. We understand that a plant’s health depends upon the soil's quality. At 1000 Folded Cranes Acupuncture, our goal is to improve pregnancy-related conditions, which optimizes the quality of the egg at conception and provides a blood-rich uterine lining favorable for implantation and nourishing a growing fetus.

Acupuncture has been clinically shown to improve results in take-home baby rates.

We have successfully treated infertility issues in many cases, including:

  • Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

  • Endometriosis

  • Ovulation problems

  • Unexplained infertility

  • Poor ovarian reserve

  • Poor egg quality

  • Luteal phase defect

  • Thin endometrium

  • Irregular periods and amenorrhea

In addition to common problems, we also provide care for:

Pre-Conception Care

It improves ovarian function, increases blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, balances hormones, and reduces stress to improve fertility and overall health.

Preparing for IVF

It improves circulation, creating a better environment where the eggs and sperm can mature and develop.

Elevated FSH

High FSH levels and poor egg quality can be mitigated by improving blood flow to the ovaries and uterus.

Ovulation Disorders

Acupuncture is a proven method to stimulate ovulation induction.

Advanced Maternal Age

Increasing blood flow helps restore the reproductive system in cases of advanced maternal age.

Treatment Details and Options:

1) Day of Embryo Transfer Treatments

This has become an essential element of a successful IVF treatment. It consists of two treatments done on the same day. Acupuncture is first done 25 minutes before the embryos are transferred, then again after the procedure while you rest. Recent scientific studies and clinical trials demonstrate that acupuncture following these protocols improves your chances of a successful pregnancy. It improves uterine blood flow, decreases uterine contractions, and reduces stress.

2) Preparation for the IVF Program

Clinical trials have shown that acupuncture treatments done twice a week, starting four to six weeks before the day of embryo transfer, increase pregnancy rates. Acupuncture not only increases blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, but it also appears to regulate fertility hormones, which may contribute to follicle development and increased implantation.

3) Pre-Conception Care Program

This comprehensive program is for women who want to ensure that their bodies are in the best possible condition to conceive. You may be preparing for IVF or simply want to boost your fertility to increase the likelihood of a natural pregnancy. Additionally, if you were initially unsuccessful with IVF and want to try again, this is an excellent way to improve your chances.

The goal is to regulate and restore your body's natural balance. This will improve your fertility, overall health, and general well-being.

The program starts with an in-depth evaluation of your condition and situation to create a personalized plan. We then employ a combination of acupuncture, diet and nutrition, and lifestyle techniques—usually including natural Chinese medicine.

The best results occur when starting 4 to 6 months before conception.

4) Pregnancy Support

Of course, after conception, acupuncture is also a powerful tool for supporting a healthy pregnancy. Recent studies have shown it to be particularly helpful in alleviating such uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms as morning sickness, fatigue, edema, elevated blood pressure, and sciatica.

The body chooses its peak follicle three months in advance. The longer you allow acupuncture to correct and balance your body, the better your chances are to conceive and carry a healthy baby through a full-term pregnancy.
