Services Overview
Supporting the Healing Process
Our treatment protocols include a variety of holistic healing techniques. Each can be utilized independently or in conjunction with one another to maximize therapeutic effect. After your initial consultation and evaluation, a recommended treatment plan will be offered. Most patients will notice a response to their symptoms after their first treatment and a significant change in how they feel within 3 to 4 treatments. Depending on your pain level or other conditions, additional treatments may be needed to allow the body to heal more significantly. Our treatments include:
-
Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses very fine needles placed into specific points on the body to stimulate natural response and healing. These points occur along quantifiable energetic pathways called meridians, which can be triggered to normalize physiological function and hormonal balance, reduce inflammation/ pain, and strengthen immunity.
(Please see Acupuncture) -
Prolo-acupuncture
Dr. Ragsdale also offers prolo-acupuncture treatment, which can provide similar results without steroid injections. By directly treating these injured areas, we are stimulating the body to heal itself, restoring function to the joint or tendon naturally. This treatment method promotes the rapid healing of soft tissues, resulting in the reduction of pain.
(Please see Prolo-acupuncture) -
Trigger Point Therapy
Our muscles have active trigger points, which can become painful, tense areas of the muscle. They can be found anywhere on the body and are one of the most common causes of chronic musculoskeletal pain, also known as myofascial pain. We can release these tense points within the muscle and achieve long-term results. (Please see Trigger Point Therapy)
-
Cupping
Cupping involves placing small glass jars on bare skin (made from glass, bamboo, or plastic) and creating a vacuum by suctioning the air. The underlying tissue is raised or sucked partway into the cup. Cupping enhances circulation, relieves pain, removes heat, and pulls out inhibiting toxins that linger in your body’s tissues.
(Please see Cupping Theory) -
Physical Therapy
Healing from injury or trauma may require a treatment plan that includes physical therapy. Our approach emphasizes functional movement, improves circulation, and repairs stimulation. By combining manual therapy, acupuncture, and soft tissue manipulation, you receive a more holistic set of treatments to reduce pain and inflammation, correct natural ranges of motion, and promote spontaneous healing without medication.
-
At-Home Care (House Calls)
You can leverage the convenience of receiving expert treatments within your home, hotel, or place of work. Patients receiving At-Home Care can customize their treatment experience further, including access to after-hours treatment without time constraints. Home care may be your best option based on your condition or pain level. (Please see House Calls for more information)
-
Veterans Care
In addition to trauma, Veterans may experience acute and chronic pain due to post-surgical conditions as well as injuries and strains sustained during their deployments. Our goal is to reduce and resolve pain conditions through holistic methods, thereby allowing many Veterans to reduce their pain medication consumption. (Please see Veterans Care)
